The support of major oil marketing companies for a higher commission could increase earnings for interim LPG distributors, impacting fuel pricing and distributor profitability.
In a communication dated October 22, AIHPGDA President Rajendra B said the assurance came during a bipartite meeting held on October 21 at IOCL's head office in Mumbai, attended by marketing directors, executive directors and senior officials of the three OMCs, along with representatives of LPG distributor associations.
Oil marketing companies (OMCs) are state‑linked firms that supply petroleum products in India, and LPG distributors earn commissions on sales; changes to these rates can affect the cost structure of the LPG market.
