WHAT HAPPENED
A 47-year-old Bulgarian paraglider, Maksim Valentinovich Gavrilichenko, died after crashing near Rising Star Peak in Dharamshala on October 25. British paraglider Stephen Antony Purdie, 63, was rescued unharmed. Both had taken off separately from Bir-Billing before encountering strong winds. Police, SDRF and local rescuers conducted an overnight operation that ended on October 26.
