The explosion damaged the roofs and walls of about ten tribal families' homes, leaving them vulnerable to further damage from the heavy rains and cyclone expected in the district.
An explosion on October 24 resulted in seven fatalities within the ASR district and simultaneously impacted the residential properties of ten tribal households residing in Peechumamidi. These affected individuals are currently experiencing deep anxiety regarding an approaching cyclone. In response to their compromised living conditions and the impending severe weather threat, the local community members are urgently appealing to the administration for official assistance and relief support.
The blast occurred during an alleged fuel transfer between two vehicles in a tribal village in Alluri Sitharama Raju district, a region prone to extreme weather and where many homes are built with asbestos roofs that offer limited protection.
