The ₹200 crore contract will expand Mumbai's high‑voltage power network, affecting electricity reliability for businesses and residents in the city.
Bajel Projects has secured a major order worth approximately ₹200 crore from Tata Power for the EPC of 400 kV gas-insulated receiving substations at Dharavi and Ghatkopar in Mumbai. The contract covers associated electrical systems, automation, communication infrastructure, balance of plant equipment and civil works, with an execution period of 18 months from the purchase order date.
Bajel Projects is an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) firm, and Tata Power is one of India's largest electricity generators and distributors; 400 kV substations are critical nodes that step down high‑voltage transmission for local distribution.
